INPROV SUGGESTIONS FOR MUSICIANS WITHIN THE HDA…
- Patiently build the jam progressions by LISTENING to and making EYE -CONTACT with the other musicians in the circle
- Listening to others in the jam will allow you to mix your sound into the desired range increasing the vocabulary of the group playing, allowing the music to breathe and change with less restriction
- Strive to collectively make music that creates an inviting social environment
- Have a drink
- Allow the musical themes to grow patiently allowing jammers to find their context within the jam
- Buy a drink for someone else
- Be respectful of the sounds around you coming back to LISTENING and EYE CONTACT I.E. DON'T HOG THE MICROPHONES!!
- Lather rinse repeat the above steps
