Hump Day Antix is a musical movement in the Tri-City’s urban arts community that operates in the nature of positive collaboration.
As collaboration is the key element with musicians (you the audience) switching instruments and mc's / singers sharing the mic's to
keep the vibe fresh through ever-changing musical styles. An exceptional community night fusing live music and DJ’s in a
progressive vibe. The wide appeal of the music and atmosphere brings in an amazing crowd who love to get down!
Jeremiah SpenceEvent Operations/Creative Direction/Hump Day HostCease Scuff and Hump Day Antix are the creative vision of Jeremiah Spence a.k.a DJ SunpredictablE. Supported by a community collective, Jer has helped to shape the Cease Scuff and Hump Day Antix parties and marketing strategies. An avid music and concert fan, Jer has always enjoyed the marketing side of the music business as well as the art. He is a near life long drummer and has been a Turntabalist / DJ since 1999. In 2005, Jer consulted, assisted in promotion and continues to perform for the infamous Make It Funky.ca, a super fun and funky collective and leader in Toronto’s underground music scene consistently pushing the boundaries of Toronto’s lineups while featuring rock steady rotations of internationally recognized DJ’s, bands and Producers. As well, Jeremiah has been the director of NUDGE events working with a core team as music coordinator and stage manager for a series of high profile fundraising events in the Tri-City’s region.
Austin GibsonHump Day Host/Creative Direction/ArtistAustin is a self taught drummer and has been playing for 16+ years. He has toured with many bands throughout Ontario and Quebec. Some of the bands include the likes of: Mind the Root, Eleven 11, and Adverteyes. He has also performed as a percussionist with Circus Orange, an international pyrotechnics and acrobatic outfit. He is all over the map with reference to drum styles but seriously loves pounding out live funky house beats but rock, funk, hiphop, blues and jazz styles are totally up his alley too. Austin is a staple in Guelph’s art community as his paintings and sculptures contribute pieces that get the gears in your head turning, to influence and share ideas and explore the vast endless potential which we all carry on our shoulders. Tyler CooksleyHump Day Antix Host Bassist/Creative DirectionTy is a self taught bass player and many musicians around him refer to him as a natural with a keen sense for rhythm. Ty has played bass in many bands, he most recent played and toured with Guelph’s own Amber Mclean Band. Ty also offers time as a studio player and is always stoked to work with new musicians. He is currently living in Guelph and is the Hump Day Antix house bass player. |
Rob RoffHump Day Host Guitarist / Keyboards / MIDI synths /Creative DirectionRob was born a musician. At a very early age he studied classical guitar and music theory. In 2005 he graduated from Columbia Academy Entertainment & Communications training in BC in post production sound engineering. Rob is fluent on the guitar, bass, keyboards/MIDI synths, turntables and he loves a good percussion jam. |
